Auto insurance

Car insurance for the way Long Island actually drives.

I'm Anthony, a licensed broker in Ronkonkoma. Tell me about your cars and who drives them, and I shop every company I work with to find the best price available to you, with coverage that holds up after a real accident on the LIE.

  • Quotes in English or Spanish, by text, WhatsApp or in person
  • Insurance ID card (FS-20) on your phone, usually before you leave the dealer lot
  • Tickets, accidents, lapses and new licenses are welcome here
  • I explain each coverage line in plain words before you buy

What I'll ask you

  1. Send me the basics
  2. I shop every company I work with
  3. We go over it together
  4. You bind, I handle the paperwork

Who this is for

Who this page is for

Most of my auto clients come to me in one of these moments. If yours is on the list, I already know which companies to call first.

  • New drivers and teens

A teen with a fresh junior license on a parent's policy, or an adult getting a first license at any age. I compare how each company rates new drivers, ask about good-student and driver-training discounts, and show you what adding the teen to your policy costs versus a separate one.

  • Tickets, accidents or points

A speeding ticket on the Southern State, an at-fault accident, a cell phone ticket. Every company weighs these differently. I find the ones that treat your record most fairly instead of letting one renewal increase decide for you.

  • A lapse in coverage

Your policy cancelled for non-payment, you sold the car and went months without insurance, or you just let it go. A lapse raises prices and the DMV may have questions about your plates. I get you covered again and explain how to clean up the DMV side.

  • Buying a car at the dealer today

You're on Sunrise Highway or Route 110 and the finance manager needs an insurance ID card before you drive off. Text me the VIN and a photo of your license. In most cases I quote, bind and send you the FS-20 the same day, often while you're still signing paperwork.

  • New to New York

You moved from another state, or you just got a license under New York's Green Light law. Many companies quote drivers without a Social Security number, and I will tell you exactly which ones and what documents they ask for.

  • Adding a driver or a car

A spouse, a parent who moved in, a second car for the kid at Suffolk CC. Adding to the policy you already have is often the better move, but not always. I quote it both ways.

  • Rideshare and delivery drivers

Driving for an app part time out of Brentwood or Jackson Heights? Most personal policies exclude you while the app is on. There are endorsements and commercial options that close that gap. Ask me before you accept your first ride.

Coverage I shop

What I actually shop for you

A New York auto policy is a stack of separate coverages. The state sets minimums for some of them. I price each one and explain where the minimum is enough and where it leaves you exposed.

  1. Liability (bodily injury and property damage)

Pays for injuries and damage you cause to others. New York's minimum is 25/50/10: $25,000 per person, $50,000 per accident, $10,000 in property damage. On Long Island roads full of new SUVs and pickups, I usually show you higher limits side by side with the minimum so you can see the real cost difference.

  2. No-fault (Personal Injury Protection)

Mandatory in New York. Pays your own medical bills and lost wages after an accident regardless of fault, with a basic limit of $50,000 per person. Additional PIP is available if you want more.

  3. Uninsured motorist

New York requires uninsured motorist coverage on every policy at the state minimum limits. It covers you and your passengers when the other driver has no insurance or hits and runs. SUM, below, is how you raise it.

  4. Collision

Repairs or replaces your car after a crash you cause, or a hit-and-run in a parking lot, minus your deductible. Required by lenders on financed and leased cars.

  5. Comprehensive

Theft, vandalism, a deer on the Northern State, flooding, a tree branch in a nor'easter, fire. Also required as long as a bank holds the title.

  6. Supplementary UM/UIM (SUM)

Raises your uninsured and underinsured protection up to your own liability limits. It is the coverage that pays you when a driver carrying minimum limits causes a serious injury. Of every line on the policy, it is the one I argue for hardest.

  7. Rental reimbursement

Pays for a rental while your car is in the shop after a covered claim. Without it, you pay out of pocket for however long the body shop on Veterans Highway takes.

  8. Roadside assistance

Tows, jump starts, lockouts, flat tires. Some companies include it, some add it as an option, and the quality of the service varies from one to the next.

  9. Glass

New York offers a full glass option with no deductible on windshield and window claims. If you drive the LIE behind dump trucks every day, ask me about it.

  10. Gap coverage for financed and leased cars

If your car is totaled and you owe more than it is worth, gap pays the difference. Some lenders build it into the loan and some don't. Bring me your finance contract and I will check.

What I check

Gaps I see all the time

These are the holes I find most often when someone sends me a photo of their current declarations page. Each one is fixable.

  1. State-minimum limits on a financed car

A $10,000 property damage limit does not go far when you rear-end a new pickup on Route 111. Once your limit runs out, the other driver's insurance company looks to you for the rest.

  2. Drivers in your household who are not on the policy

Adult kids, a spouse, a cousin staying with you who borrows the car. Companies expect every licensed person in the home to be listed or formally excluded. An unlisted driver in an accident can turn into a denied claim or a cancelled policy.

  3. A lapse that keeps following you

Even a short lapse marks you as higher risk at most companies for a while. The fix is continuous coverage from today forward. I set up a payment plan and renewal reminders so it never happens twice.

  4. No gap coverage on a loan or lease

New cars lose value fast. If yours is totaled in the first year or two, the insurance check may not cover the loan balance. Gap closes that difference.

  5. Named-driver exclusions you forgot about

Years ago someone in the house was excluded to bring the payment down. Now they drive the car every day. If they crash, there is no coverage at all for that accident. I review every exclusion at each renewal.

How it works

How a quote works with me

01

Send me the basics

Text or WhatsApp me a photo of your license, your current declarations page if you have one, and the VINs. Or fill out the short quote form.

02

I shop every company I work with

I run your profile through the companies I work with, compare limits apples to apples, and flag the options that fit your situation, not just the first number on the screen.

03

We go over it together

In English or Spanish, by phone, text or at my office on Ocean Avenue in Ronkonkoma. I explain each coverage line and answer the questions the apps never do.

04

You bind, I handle the paperwork

I send your ID cards for the DMV or the dealer, set up your payment plan, and stay your point of contact for claims, changes and renewals.

Long Island

Auto insurance for Suffolk, Nassau and Queens drivers

My office is on Ocean Avenue in Ronkonkoma, a few minutes from the LIRR station and MacArthur Airport. Many of my auto clients commute the LIE or the Southern State every day, park at Ronkonkoma or Brentwood station, or run work vans between job sites off Suffolk Avenue. Those details matter when I shop your policy: annual mileage, where the car sleeps at night, and who else drives it all move the price.

Brentwood, Central Islip and Bay Shore drivers often come to me with a first New York license, a car bought the same afternoon on Sunrise Highway, or a record that another office turned away. Many companies quote drivers without a Social Security number. I know which ones, and I quote in Spanish without a translator in the middle.

In Hempstead and Queens the rules change again: heavier traffic on Hempstead Turnpike, the Belt Parkway and the Van Wyck, street parking in Jackson Heights and Corona, more claims per block. The companies price those ZIP codes differently from Ronkonkoma, so a broker who runs every market for you earns their keep there.

Wherever you are in New York State, I can write your policy. Long Island is home, and I work with clients across the five boroughs and upstate by phone, text and WhatsApp.

Questions

Questions people text me

New York requires liability of 25/50/10 (bodily injury per person and per accident, and property damage), uninsured motorist coverage, and no-fault personal injury protection with a basic $50,000 limit. That is the floor for registering a car. For most Long Island drivers I also quote higher liability limits so you can see the difference for yourself.
